The purpose of maintenance is to ensure the competitiveness of the company, ensuring adequate availability and reliability of assets in terms of functionality and appropriate quality. The highly competitive climate that currently exists in the industry and the stifling atmosphere of costs reduction requires that all systems and Imagen1functions of the company will adopt a philosophy of continuous improvement unavoidable. The maintenance function of a company, as one of the features with most associated costs, particularly in sectors such as petrochemicals, pulp, mining, etc., improving their efficiency will dramatically affect the competitiveness of the company. It is necessary to implement a process of continuous improvement in all activities of maintenance of a company with the aim of achieving the excellence, maintenance and world-class reliability (WCMR).
