Data accuracy and system reliability can define the success of any aerodynamic test. Here\u2019s how PROSIG technology, represented in Spain and Portugal by TSI, helped optimise complex testing in a transonic wind tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"575\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Albert Sans'; font-weight: normal;\"><strong data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"573\">The challenge: capturing high-fidelity data in highly complex environments.<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Albert Sans'; font-weight: normal;\"><strong data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"573\"><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"907\">Our client, a specialist organisation providing design verification services through wind tunnel testing, required a data acquisition system capable of adapting to extremely demanding trials. Test campaigns can involve the simultaneous capture of analogue data from 16 up to 128 channels, depending on the complexity of the study.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"907\">\n<h2 data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"971\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42052 aligncenter size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Modelos-PROSIG-captura-de-analisis-TSI-1024x548.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"548\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"971\">\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"971\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Albert Sans'; font-weight: normal;\"><strong data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"969\">The solution: PROSIG P8048 system and DATS software.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"1185\">To meet these requirements, the PROSIG P8048 system was implemented \u2014 a 24-bit data acquisition solution capable of capturing up to 128 channels at speeds of up to 50 ks\/s per channel. Its key features include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1694\">\n<li data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1355\">\n<p data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1355\"><strong data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1249\">Simultaneous multi-channel capture with divided sampling<\/strong>, allowing certain channels to be recorded at sub-multiples of the main frequency to manage data volume.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1356\" data-end=\"1496\">\n<p data-start=\"1358\" data-end=\"1496\"><strong data-start=\"1358\" data-end=\"1383\">Modular configuration<\/strong>, enabling operation as a single large-scale system or as independent systems, depending on the client\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1694\">\n<p data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1694\"><strong data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1573\">Remote control and full integration with the tunnel\u2019s control software<\/strong>, which determines when to start acquisition, its duration, and automatically defines file names and associated metadata.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-41971 aligncenter size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/TSI-Tunel-de-viento.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1701\" data-end=\"1768\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Albert Sans';\"><strong data-start=\"1701\" data-end=\"1766\">End-to-end data integrity: from the tunnel to post-processing.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"2081\">One of the system\u2019s key functionalities is the automatic association of relevant metadata \u2014 such as tunnel temperature, set-point number, or pressure \u2014 which is embedded with the raw data at source. This architecture ensures that the entire dataset is fully qualified and traceable during subsequent analysis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2328\">PROSIG\u2019s DATS Toolbox software enables engineers to select datasets and apply advanced mathematical operations while incorporating the recorded metadata.
