The scientific publication proposes non-destructive vibration methods to identify the presence of delamination defects in fiber bulkheads used in small vessels (less than 50 m). The main objective is to assess the feasibility of vibrational energy as a key parameter for the detection and quantification of delamination defects in composite material bulkheads. For this purpose, vibrational energy variations were measured in sandwich and monolithic panels with different types of delamination through a non-destructive test.<\/p>\n
The results of the experimental campaign demonstrated that the vibration energy of the bulkheads is influenced by the condition of the specimens, and therefore, variations in this parameter are a good indicator of the existence of delamination defects in the bulkheads. In addition, variations in vibrational energy provide relevant information about the severity of delamination defects in the panels. In conclusion, changes in vibrational energy can be accurately used to detect delamination defects in composite material bulkheads. The proposed methodology for detecting and quantifying delamination defects could be applied to a large number of fiber components such as bulkheads, turbine blades, etc.<\/p>\n
