The ship, a Suezmax-type oil tanker with a deadweight tonnage of 156,000 tons and named “MONTE UDALA,” conducted the mentioned tests between January 26 and February 4. Based on the trust relationship that this shipyard grants to TSI through numerous collaborative projects throughout the history of both companies, the sea trials of the mentioned vessel have been carried out on this occasion. TSI has collaborated in the following tests:<\/p>\n

    Measurement of Propulsive Power in the Shaft Line:<\/strong> This data has been used for speed, consumption, emissions tests, and for the precise adjustment of propulsion. This is done to verify the demanding contractual requirements acquired by the shipyard, and they have been satisfactorily fulfilled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Measurement of Vibration and Noise Levels:<\/strong> TSI has verified vibration levels with demanding comfort criteria currently required on board ships, finding that they comply with a comfortable margin.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Measurement of Torsional Vibration Levels in the Shaft Line:<\/strong> Through this test, the critical torsional speed of the shaft line has been experimentally determined to inhibit it from the propulsion system’s operating range.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Measurement of Axial Vibration Levels:<\/strong> TSI has verified, through this measurement, the proper operation of the axial vibration damper, thus limiting the load on the thrust bearing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Measurement of Overall Vibration Levels:<\/strong> This test has detected critical operating speeds for the ship’s structure. Due to the appropriate selection of the engine, no critical operating speeds are found.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    All tests have been properly supervised and approved by the shipowner and the classification society.<\/p>\n
