{"id":1289,"date":"2013-09-23T15:16:59","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T15:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tsisl.magicalwebstudio.com\/index.php\/2013\/09\/23\/tsi-will-participate-in-the-lastest-key-project-incass\/"},"modified":"2022-02-24T11:03:36","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T10:03:36","slug":"tsi-will-participate-in-the-lastest-key-project-incass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/en\/2013\/09\/tsi-will-participate-in-the-lastest-key-project-incass\/","title":{"rendered":"TSI will participate in the lastest key project (INCASS) funded by the EC in integration of Monitoring Solutions, Inspection Techniques, Data Gathering, Risk Analysis and Decision Support Systems for Structures and Machinery on board vessels."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next November the <strong>INCASS<\/strong> (<strong>IN<\/strong>spection <strong>CA<\/strong>pabilities for Enhanced <strong>S<\/strong>hip <strong>S<\/strong>afety) will start with the participation of <strong>TSI<\/strong> \u2013<strong>T\u00c9CNICAS Y SERVICIOS DE INGENIER\u00cdA S.L.- <\/strong>through its kick-off meeting in Glasgow. The challenge of the project is to deal with multifaceted activities bringing together a range of experienced and dedicated partners in order to tackle the issue of ship inspection, identification of high-risk and sub-standard ships, providing access to information related to ship surveys independent of the ship flag state and inspection regime and moreover incorporate enhanced and harmonised cooperation of maritime stakeholders in order to avoid ship accidents, promote maritime safety and protect the environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>INCASS<\/strong> consortium aims to bring an innovative solution to the integration of monitoring, inspection, data gathering (including real-time information), risk analysis\/management and Decision Support for ship structures, machinery and equipm<a href=\"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/224\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12016 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/224\" alt=\"N_60\" width=\"321\" height=\"157\" \/><\/a>ent in an efficient and collaborative manner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The companies, research institutes and universities involved in the project cover the different technical field necessaries to implement real applicable solutions and new working methodologies. Noteworthy of the marine stakeholders represented in the project are <strong>University of Strathclyde<\/strong>, as leader of the project; <strong>Lloyd\u00b4s Register of Shipping<\/strong>, <strong>Bureau Veritas<\/strong>, <strong>Rina services spa<\/strong>, as Classification Societies; <strong>TSI<\/strong>, <strong>GLAFCOS<\/strong>, <strong>SHIPCON<\/strong> and <strong>AES<\/strong> as marine consultancy companies; <strong>DANAOS<\/strong> and <strong>APA<\/strong> as shipping companies; <strong>DFKI<\/strong> as research institute and the University of Balearic Islands (<strong>UIB<\/strong>) among others like shipyards, equipment associations (SEA), flags etc&#8230; present in the advisory board.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this consortium <strong>TSI<\/strong> will lead the work-package 6 \u201c<strong>Testing &amp; Technical Audit<\/strong>\u201d. The objectives of this work-package are to perform the overall testing as well as the technical audit of the overall <strong>INCASS<\/strong> framework in place so as to increase the confidence in the methodology developed and the full application of the <strong>INCASS<\/strong> platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main expected impact of this powerful project in the marine sector should be as follow:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Methodologies and tools:<\/li>\n<li>Enabling recognised organisations and regulatory authorities to assess and upgrade their risk management processes.<\/li>\n<li>Enabling more efficient coordination of inspection scheduling, and monitoring\/managing. Vulnerabilities particularly by sharing information on incidents and near-loss cases.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and monitoring ships at risk.<\/li>\n<li>Defining preventive actions over time, performing risk analysis, evolving risk control options, cost benefit analysis and decision making recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Improved technologies in inspection repair and verification of ship structures, also considering vessel health-status information through real time information from \u2018intelligent\u2019 sensors, enabling the realisation of more targeted and time efficient inspection processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This new project should be the pending ingredient, sitting all the interested marine stakeholders around the same table, to define the future of the sector in terms of inspection capabilities to reach similar levels of performances and flexibility already achieved in other industries from long time ago.<\/p>\n<span class=\"et_bloom_bottom_trigger\"><\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Next November the INCASS (INspection CApabilities for Enhanced Ship Safety) will start with the participation of TSI \u2013T\u00c9CNICAS Y SERVICIOS DE INGENIER\u00cdA S.L.- through its kick-off meeting in Glasgow.
