As it can be seen from the AEMAC website (https://www.aemac.org/socios-corporativos/), Técnicas y Servicios de Ingeniería (TSI) is already part of the Spanish Composite Materials Association (AEMAC). This Spanish non-profit organization aims to be a communication forum for the scientific, technical and business community in the field of composite materials.

The mission of the AEMAC is to serve as an interaction between the industrial and scientific community to favor the transfer of technology regarding composite materials, promoting communication and dissemination of the composite events, providing specialized training in the area of composite materials and representing the Spanish community of composite materials in international forums. Further details about the AEMAC organization can be found on the website of this organization https://www.aemac.org/.

The advantages of becoming a member of this association focused on the diffusion of the use of composite materials in the industry are summarized below. In the first place, the partnership with AEMAC gives the possibility of collaborating in fairs and events where composite materials play a critical role. Moreover, the contents of the AEMAC online magazine, whose main objective is to achieve a greater dissemination of the last technological advances of the composite materials field, will be accessible to the TSI team. Thirdly, this partnership guarantees access to a data base with specific technical documentation in the area of composite materials as well as online seminars, specific training courses, courses and seminars, etc. The fourth advantage of this association comes from the dissemination and spread of the knowledge gained in the area of composite materials, which implies a greater dissemination of the results obtained in the FIBRESHIP project and the possibility of offering consulting services in the composite industry. Eventually, the partnership with AEMAC boosts relations with national and international organizations, as well as public and private entities in the field of composite materials which will allow TSI to increase their network of contacts.

TSI is in charge of the coordination of the FIBRESHIP project (www.fibreship.eu) which is one of the greatest promoters of the extensive use of composite materials in the shipping industry. The FIBRESHIP project (H2020 – Grant Number 723360) is an ambitious European project that aims to develop a new shipping market focused on the development of large-scale vessels fully made of composite materials. To achieve this goal, the project evaluates and encourages the application of composite materials in the marine industry as well as advanced numerical tools for the design of three type of large-length composite vessels targeted in the project (an oceanographic, a container ship and a ROPAX). In addition, the project promotes the use of new inspection monitoring tools to predict structural failures in the local and global elements of the ship, among other activities. The results and conclusions of the FIBRESHIP project are of great interest for the shipping industry due to the fact that the massive application of composite laminates in the shipbuilding causes a drastic weight reduction that generates an increase of the load capacity, a reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions of the ship, significant savings in the fuel consumption and avoids the existence of corrosion problems. Since the widespread use of this type of materials results in important cost savings, the results of this project are also of utmost importance to other industries specialized in the use of composites. As a proof of concept, TSI was invited to present the results of the FIBRESHIP project in the Annual MATCOMP Congress in Vigo and the assistants from the aerospace and automotive industry showed a very good reception and great interest for the project.

As a member of this association, the first action of TSI is to present the last outcomes of the FIBRESHIP project in the COMPOSITES SPAIN fair which will be held on 28 November 2019 at the conference room sponsored by HP Printing 3D (https: // www. easyfairs.com/metalmadrid-2019/metalmadrid-2019/conferences/sala-hp-3d-printing/).

This event is organized by AEMAC and the venue of the conference is the industrial fair METALMADRID 2019 (http://www.easyfairs.com/me/madmadrid-2019), which will take place in Madrid from 27th to 28th November. The event counted with the participation of more than 600 companies providing different types of engineering services such as machine tools, components, subcontracting, supplies, engineering, materials, robotics, surface treatment, composites, additive manufacturing, industrial solutions, and so on.
