The Vibration Institute is a North American entity with more than 45 years of experience in the area of mechanical vibration. Its mission is to disseminate practical information on the evaluation of the performance and condition of machinery without commercial interest. The institute has a wide variety of educational and certification programs, which offer professionals the exchange of technical knowledge among them. This institution was created as a place for scientists, engineers and professionals from other industries to exchange knowledge on the measurement and analysis of machinery vibration.

In 2010 the Vibration Institute received accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in the Vibration Analyst Certification program.
