The 1st Review Meeting of FIBRESHIP project (H2020, Grant number 723360) was held in Brussels (Belgium) at 13th of February 2019 with the attendance of the consortium along with the Project Officer Renata Kadric and Agnieszka Zaplatka (Policy Officer of European Commission). The progress of the project and the outstanding work carried out during the first period of FIBRESHIP (from June 2017 to November 2018) was presented by the Work Package leaders and the FIBRESHIP Project Coordinator. The Project Officer (P.O.) stated that the project is progressing well, and the work performed during the first period of the project have given raised to excellent results. She encouraged us to keep working on and to face the challenges identified for the achievement of a successful project at the end of the second period of FIBRESHIP.

In addition, the 5th FIBRESHIP Progress Meeting was also held at the same venue during the two days before to the 1st Review Meeting (11th and 12th of February 2019) allowing to the consortium to bring together and share all the advances and results obtained along the last 4 months of the project (from M17 to M20). It has to be pointed out that the demonstrator (a fishing research vessel block in composite material including the FIBRESHIP solutions) is under construction since the beginning of December 2018 and the shipyard IxBlue managed to show the infusion process of the hull in live streaming during the 5th PM.

FIBRESHIP consortium would like to thank Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the European Union for granted the venue to holding these two meetings and also to European Commission and INEA – Innovation and Networks Executive Agency for their support to carry out this impressive and innovative project.
